• While prior research experience is not necessary, students are expected to be open-minded, curious learners who fully immerse themselves into learning about the research activities. Students are expected to fully engage in all research activities.

  • Students are involved in all aspects of the research including data collection (e.g., leading focus group or individual interviews with participants), data cleaning (e.g., organizing data files), and data analysis and interpretation (e.g., coding interviews and writing up results) activities.

  • Students will have numerous opportunities to collaborate and share our research to different audiences through conference presentations, community presentations, or published manuscripts. Students who show deeper interests in a particular topic area and who are motivated to take on independent research activities will have the opportunity to be a lead author on conference presentations and manuscripts.

  • We welcome students from different majors and varied career goals. However, students should have interest in at least one or more of the projects that we are working on. Lab members will be expected to collaborate with faculty and fellow students alike. It is expected that students make at least a one quarter commitment, 5-10 hours per week. This is flexible given class schedules and other commitments.

  • We are located in the Ridgewalk Academic Complex, Building 1, in the North Torrey Pines Living & Learning Neighborhood.
